Friends I am beyond stoked to share this one with you. I have discovered an incredible company, Sukhi, that has an amazing mission AND the most incredible rugs. Whaaaattt?!!! YAAASSS!!!
Sukhi is not only a company that makes great rugs (we’ll get to that in a sec) but they have an incredible mission that I was 100% behind from the very beginning. “Our mission at Sukhi is to create jobs for our artisans that allow them to be creative, work in safe working conditions and receive great pay. We greatly promote and believe in design that is ethical and fair-trade.” I was immediately on board with a company that promotes fair trade and fair pay to it’s employees and promotes and celebrates their artistry.
As if that’s not enough each rug is handmade by one of their artisans and labeled with the name of that individual! What an incredible touch. When I received this piece, (I ordered the felt ball rug in a 80x100cm) I tore open the packaging out of excitement (trust me it was totally understandable) and the first thing I saw was the tag on the end of the rug with the lovely artisan’s name written on it. It felt like a piece of her was in my home, from across the world, like a hug from Nepal. Here is a fun video showing exactly how she made it!
Here is how it looked after I removed the packaging….see the amazing signed tag from the talented woman who created it?!
There is nothing like a handmade item, it has an extra special quality or feel to it that can’t be matched from a big box store. I am a firm believer in one of a kind and artisan created products and this one is exceptional. I literally did a happy dance that may or may not have been accompanied by a little screech of excitement upon seeing it. (ok it totally was accompanied by a screech and a giggle with a clap if I’m being honest)
Here it is partially under my Lady Blue chair and it’s incredible. My family calls it the “gumball” rug because it looks like gumballs and it feels incredible on the tootsies.
What is the quality you ask? Peeps, stellar. Stellar is the only word that comes to mind. I was blown away by the strength with which this rug has demonstrated. I have 4 children and 4 dogs (2 of them huge canines) and this rug hasn’t blinked an eye. It withstands the abuse they give it and looks just as beautiful as the moment I put it down. It vacuums up like a dream and feels like walking on marshmallows. That might sound ridiculous but I swear it’s true. I relish walking on this with bare feet.
Sukhi Felt Ball Rug
So far I’ve placed it at the door to the backyard (highly trafficked area), the kitchen below the sink and the bedroom and it has been a champ in every spot. I may just rotate it around to keep enjoying it in different areas.
I could really go on and on but I am absolutely unequivocally in love with this rug and highly recommend this fantastic company for an artisan made piece from somewhere around the world (they have artisans in several locations). I am already talking the hubs into ordering another one!

Give them a look! Sukhi has a ton of different styles (seriously it was so hard to choose just one!) for all tastes and decor. From neutrals to colorful. This felt ball dream creation was the perfect addition to our home and I will love it for years to come. (Can you tell I am head over heels?!)
