I had to share this with you guys. Although, I admit I’m super lamesauce and forgot to take pics when I was scavenging every Home Goods within 50 miles like an animal in a grocery store that hasn’t eaten in a month.
I have a good reason, ok a great reason. They were having their “Explore India” event which I think only happens once or twice a year for a few weeks each time. They get in all this amazing stuff from India and it’s literally, my decor soul style. I have this somewhat supernatural ability to sniff out anything from India (it’s a running joke amongst the hubs and kids now actually). I am insanely attracted to the detail work in their pieces, the bold use of color and pattern and the unapologetic fun feel of it all. Sound familiar? I am convinced I am supposed to be in India.
Ok enough jabbering, here are the pieces I snagged this go round! And this list may expand, we’ll see if they have any other fab India pieces next time I go in!
Lampshades…..you guys I hate lame boring lampshades. They literally suck the life out of a fabulous lamp base. That might be a bit dramatic depending on the style of shades you prefer, however I like some zing with my zang!
The lampshades I love the most in the whole world are these amazing embroidered, patterned and fabulously affordable shades from India via Home Goods (I have these on 7 lamps now!). And if ya notice, I don’t have any matching! I did that on purpose. They have similar color stories but offer a lil sumpin sumpin extra when they don’t match.
I popped some new ones on these lamps too, I already loved the bases but dang do these bright shades give some oomph! (See more of the bedroom here)
Of course you knew I couldn’t talk about some of my fave things without sharing pillows! I mean, this IS me we’re talking about here. hahaha See that pink knotted thing on the floor? Yeah my newest “pillow” and I LOVE it! It’s actually super comfy to lay on and it’s not supposed to be on the floor. Our kids got ahold of it and like to lay on it on the floor to watch tv. You know it’s awesome when the kids steal it. And how about that epic throw?! Yep that’s embroidered butterflies on the bottom and tie die pink on the top! (picture me with mouth hanging on the floor and barely a sound escaping) Perfect pop for this lil chair. (see it before here!!)
But we were talking about pillows right? I got myself a smidge distracted with that throw. That luscious, colorful, beautiful, fabulous-ness of a…..ok ok moving on.
How about this pillow? I know I have about 70 billion on this sofa but I’m specifically talking about that big red pink number in the center. Also from India and cozy as all get out. Charlie the old grand-dad of the group of canines here is modeling this whole set up so beautifully.
I absolutely HAVE to talk about curtains. Here’s a quick backstory on this. I had some beautiful grey patterned drapes in here for the last 3+ years and while they were lovely they made the whole kitchen feel extra dark. (Almost perfectly matched the cabinets) I have been searching for something colorful and sheer to replace them with but dang, finding 6 panels in a smaller size without breaking the bank is no bueno. I was debating making my own WHEN, cue the hallelujah music, I spotted these gorgeous lovelies at Home Goods during the Explore India event. Of course they are part of the India products!
Oh ma lord! Look at how beautiful! The orange and pink remind me of a sunset and tie in perfectly with my paint palette cheese plate and Sukhi rug! (read more about the sukhi rug here) AND it pulls in a lot more colors from the embroidered flowers on the top! So what did I do in the middle? Since they only had 2 sets of these (and it’s HIGHLY unlikely I will ever find a third) I used a couple of felt flower garlands, also from the India event, and draped and wrapped them on the curtain rod. It adds more dimension, connects with the drapes and leaves more wall open to see my beautiful backsplash! I’m honestly happier with this than if I had another set of curtains.
Now how about accessories? I’m talkin about the fun stuff you put on your table for accents. Here is an awesome mirror I spotted. I have a serious weakness for geodes and pretty stones so it jumped out at me. I picked it up and of course, tag says it’s from India. It’s double sided so both sides are mirrored and it’s the perfect size for the console behind the sofa.
More flower garlands hang on Jack the Moose’s antlers to give him some color. He looks like he just popped his head out of flower bushes, which is so awesome I can’t even! (and SO cheap to do, $30 for both garlands!) Jack has never looked more dapper I must say. (He has been in our dining room for the last 7 years)
I think that about covers the most recent Explore India event. I’m tellin ya, even if you only want one little tiny pop of color and texture keep your eyeballs open for this at your local Home Goods. So MUCH GOODNESS!
